Who Is Paul Kolker?

Professional actor. Improviser. And the guy who warmed up the audience for one of the most-watched talk shows in television history.

📺 Network Television

The Audience Warm-Up Guy for
Dr. Phil — On the Prime Time Studio Floor.

Before every taping of Dr. Phil — one of the highest-rated daytime talk shows in television history with over 30 million weekly viewers at its peak — Paul Kolker was the one standing on that studio floor, microphone in hand, getting hundreds of audience members loose, laughing, and ready for cameras to roll.

That's not a small job. Warming up a live TV audience requires the same toolkit Paul teaches at Laughter School: quick thinking, fearless presence, and the ability to make a room full of strangers feel like they're in on the joke — in minutes.

A Working Actor, Not Just a Teacher

Paul isn't someone who used to perform and now talks about it. He's an active working actor with screen credits across film, television, and short form — including roles in Night (TV Series, 2021–2023), Insane Like Me? (2024), Causeway (2022), Wicked Season (2024), General Hospital, and multiple features currently in production. When Paul teaches you something, it's because he does it himself — on real sets, for real cameras, in front of real audiences.

🎤

What Improv Looks Like at the Professional Level

Improv isn't just a game — it's the skill that separates good performers from unforgettable ones. Paul has performed and taught improv at a professional level, and he's seen firsthand what it does to someone's confidence, timing, and ability to connect with an audience. At Laughter School, he teaches it the way it works in the real world — not theory, not drills, but the actual tools working performers use every single day.

Your teen isn't learning from someone who read about performing.
They're learning from someone who has done it — on network television,
on real film sets, and in front of real audiences.

Everything They Need.
Nothing They Don't.

What Your Teen Walks Away With

Every camper gets a professional headshot session on Day 4 — the exact same caliber of work Jordan produces for working actors, models, and commercial talent. These aren't camp snapshots. These are career-starting materials. One headshot comes with the camp, with additional shots available for purchase directly from Jordan.

  • 🖼️
Professional Headshots High-resolution portrait shots taken by a working commercial photographer — the same quality used by professional actors submitting to casting directors and talent agencies.
  • ✏️
Professional Retouching Each selected image is professionally edited and delivered ready-to-submit — not a filter, not a preset. Real post-production from someone who does this for national campaigns.
  • 🎭
In-Character & Neutral Looks Jordan captures both natural and expressive shots — giving your teen range in their portfolio from day one, whether they're pursuing dramatic roles, commercial work, or comedy.
  • 📱
Digital Delivery Final images delivered digitally — formatted and ready for Actors Access, Backstage, IMDb, social media bios, and any agency or casting submission platform.
💡
Why This Changes Everything

Professional headshots typically cost $300–$800+ on their own. Your teen leaves Laughter School with the skills to perform and the materials to get hired — a combination most young actors spend years and thousands of dollars trying to put together.

We've Got Answers.

Does my teen need any acting experience? +
Zero experience required. In fact, some of our most breakthrough campers had never set foot on a stage. We start from scratch and build from there. Curiosity and willingness to try are the only prerequisites.
What are the exact camp dates and hours? +
Camp runs 8:30 am - 4:30 pm daily over 4 consecutive days, with the Live Showcase on evening of Day 4 (from 6–7pm). The camp runs from July 13th through the 16th at the Coppell Arts Center. The Summer 2026 session is coming up — spots are going fast!
What if my teen is really shy or introverted? +
This camp was honestly built for introverts. We create a container of safety first — no one is thrown into the deep end. Shy teens consistently have the most dramatic transformations because improv gives them a structured way to come out of their shell on their own terms.
Is there a refund policy? +
Yes. Full refund up to 30 days before camp starts. 50% refund between 15–30 days out. No refund within 14 days of start date — but you can transfer your spot to another student at no charge.
How many campers per instructor? +
We cap enrollment at 24 campers and have 2 lead instructors plus 1 assistant, giving a roughly 7:1 camper-to-instructor ratio. Your teen will get real coaching attention, not just group instruction.
Who are the instructors? +
Working actors and improv performers with real stage and screen credits — not just educators. Every instructor has performed professionally and knows how to translate that experience into breakthroughs for teens. Meet our instructors below.

The Stage Is Already Yours.

24 teens will walk away from this camp different. Make sure yours is one of them.
